College Game Night with the St. Paul Saints

Inver Hills and DCTC promote degrees, majors, and programs at CHS Field

Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College teamed up for a Minnesota State College Game Night with the St. Paul Saints Tuesday evening, August 16, 2022, at CHS Field in St. Paul. The Saints played the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and took a 9–0 lead in the 2nd inning, but lost the game 9–10.

“The opportunity to sponsor a Minnesota State College Game Night at CHS Field during a St. Paul Saints game allowed us to showcase the wide array of technical, career, and academic programs at DCTC and Inver Hills,” said Lisé Freking, director of marketing and strategic communications at both colleges. “Our staff, faculty, students, administrators, family, and friends got the chance to interact with Saints fans at our Minnesota State tent by the front gate and watch the Saints play on a beautiful summer night.”

Lisé added that Karina Villeda, an Inver Hills student, and Brandon Gerster, a DCTC student and Blue Knights baseball player, each threw a ceremonial first pitch. Julia Myers, an Inver Hills student, sang the National Anthem.

“Michael Berndt, DCTC and Inver Hills president, shared the missions, visions, and values of both colleges from the Saints broadcast booth,” Lisé said. “We hope to have even more fun next season hosting another College Game Night in partnership with Minnesota State and the St. Paul Saints.”
