High school students explore music and art at Inver Hills
Students from Gordon Parks High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, visited Inver Hills Community College in mid-April to attend the Fine Arts Festival for spring semester 2024. The students attended three workshops, steel drums with Andrew Martin, PhD, music faculty, ceramic tile painting with Wendy Olson, MFA, art faculty, and wire sculpture with Paul Wegner, MFA, photography faculty, and Rob Kolomyski, MFA, art faculty.
Inver Hills offers three fine arts associate degrees that transfer to four-year colleges and universities:
Art Transfer Pathway A.F.A.
The 60-credit Transfer Pathway A.F.A. in Art is a pre-professional program that offers you the powerful opportunity to complete an associate degree and transfer with junior-year status to a designated Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program in art-related majors at five universities in the Minnesota State system.

Music A.F.A.
The 68-credit A.F.A. in Music degree program gives you a strong foundation for transfer to a four-year school with junior-year status. The degree program also offers you opportunities for hands-on learning in the music industry, including an internship, while securing connections with industry experts and professionals that can lead to meaningful employment in the music field.

Theatre Transfer Pathway A.F.A.
The 60-credit Transfer Pathway A.F.A. in Theatre degree program paves the way for you to transfer with junior-year status to a Minnesota State university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the theatre arts.
