Inver Hills Annual Research Conference 2024: Call for Presentations

Calling all faculty, staff, and students! Submit a proposal to present by Monday, April 8, 2024

ARC 2024 dates and times:

Wednesday, April 17, 2024: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Inver Hills Community College is holding the 2024 Annual Research Conference (ARC) Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Fine Arts building on the college’s campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

ARC is a chance for Inver Hills students, faculty, and staff to showcase their work and projects. This year’s ARC theme is Exploring Climate and Social Justice, which aligns with the campus-wide goal to raise awareness through action while highlighting two new certificates, the Climate Change certificate and Social Justice certificate.

Lisa Tracy

We are inviting college faculty, staff, and students to present projects at the conference. Presentations can be related to the theme, but all topics are welcome. Staff and faculty can present their own work and/or encourage students to present theirs.

Submit a proposal to present by Monday, April 1, 2024. Projects do not have to be completed by the time of signup, but you will be asked for a title and 50-word summary to go into the ARC 2024 program.

Lisa Tracy, biology faculty at the college, is inviting everyone in the Inver Hills campus community to attend ARC 2024. Lisa urges faculty to attend and bring their classes even if they or their students are not presenting. Presentations in poster or oral formats, keynote speakers, and special events will be occurring every hour on the hour.

Faculty can also contact Lisa to request help getting their students ready to present. “We have sample assignments in poster or oral presentation form,” she said. “I have worked with many instructors one on one to adapt existing assignments into something ready to present at the conference.”

ARC 2024: Exploring Climate & Social Justice

The Inver Hills Annual Research Conference provides participants an opportunity to improve skills such as communication, organization, public presentation, active listening, and the importance of questioning general assumptions and basic argumentative structures.

ARC 2024 is now accepting conference submissions for oral presentations and poster sessions.

Please follow the link below to fill out the submission proposal form. You will be asked to provide details about your poster or presentation along with your preferred time slot. Submission deadline is Monday, April 8, 2024.
