Several students to be awarded $500 scholarships for fall semester 2018
Inver Hills Community College received a $3,500 IME-Becas grant from the Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior (IME—Institute for Mexicans Abroad) Fellowship Program via the Consulate of Mexico in Saint Paul. Colleges and universities throughout Minnesota receive IME-Becas grants that benefit Mexican or Mexican-American students.
Previous IME-Becas grants at Inver Hills, which provides matching funds, include $10,000 in 2015, $3,000 in 2016 and $4,000 in 2017.
“We are once again grateful for the sustained collaborative support of the Mexican Consulate, which will provide for several $500 scholarships for students to enroll in courses this fall semester,” said Aaron Salasek, director of outreach and recruitment at the college. “This financial assistance makes a life-changing impact on students working to pursue their long-term educational goals, and literally enables students to attend the college.”
