$23 million project made possible by the work of lawmakers, local leaders, Minnesota State BOT, and Inver Hills campus community
Inver Hills Community College hosted the Technology & Business Building Grand Reopening Wednesday morning, September 10, 2025, on the college’s campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The groundbreaking ceremony for the $23 million renovation project took place in late July 2024.

The project renovated 31,800 square feet, modernizing learning environments for the college’s Information Technology Careers (ITC), STEM, Paralegal, Business, and Accounting programs. Fifteen flexible-sized, technology-adapted classrooms and four specialized computer networking technology classrooms were created along with a new spacious gathering area that connects the Technology & Business Building to Heritage Hall.
“This renovated building is a milestone in the ongoing mission of Inver Hills,” said Michael Berndt, president of Inver Hills and Dakota County Technical College. “It is the work this facility helps us do that matters most, and we are supported in that work by so many members of our larger community.”
