Inver Hills Theatre is presenting five performances of Grand Horizons,  the spring play for 2026.

Grand Horizons, a Bess Wohl play, follows Nancy and Bill, a couple married for 50 years who decide to divorce just as they settle into a senior living community. The comedy-drama explores the surprising, messy fallout as their adult sons confront the reality of their parents’ long-hidden unhappiness and individual desires.

All performances are in the Fine Arts Building Theatre on the Inver Hills Community College campus, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

From the director

Director and theatre instructor Lisa Weaver shared her thoughts on the play and the process of creating it for the Inver Hills stage.

“What happens when a long-time marriage changes or even falls apart?  What do we owe each other as partners, friends, parents, and sons & daughters?  How does love change over time?  How much does what we see in the mirror reflect who we are on the inside? How do we reconcile the ripple effects of our choices and the choices of our family?   These are just some of the questions we have wrestled with as we worked on this funny, shocking, moving and sometimes painful show.  There has been a lot of laughter, discussion, and some tears (mostly mine!).  Most importantly, we have strived to be truthful to these characters and their story.  As Nancy, one of the main characters, says, “…maybe truth is the first part of love.”
