Business office director receives Outstanding Service Award

Mark Faxvog, business office director at Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College, was recognized for outstanding work Wednesday, December 7, during the 2022 Minnesota State Finance Conference.

The Outstanding Service Award recognizes individuals and/or teams that provide outstanding campus service.

Bill Maki, vice chancellor for finance and facilities of Minnesota State, said, “Common themes in the nominations of individuals that received this recognition include revising business practices that support student success, taking on additional responsibilities during staff transitions, and being highly respected by their campus constituents.”

Mark Faxvog reported that he is very honored to receive this statewide recognition.

“We would not have been able to accomplish any of this without  all of the dedication and teamwork of each of our Business Office team members,” Mark said. “I also very much appreciate the patience, support, and grace from campus leadership because I recognize that three-quarters our Business Office team members are still relatively new to their respective roles, and we are all on a steep learning-curve. I look forward to working with our team to continue improve the experiences of the students, faculty, and staff to support the integrity of Inver Hills and DCTC.”

Heather Aagesen-Huebner serves as vice president of finance and operations at Inver Hills and DCTC. Heather is responsible for the Auxiliary Services, Business Office, Information Technology, Facilities and Operations, and Public Safety & Security departments at the colleges.

“Mark stands out for his dedication to service, earnest engagement with partners, and appreciation of the broader Business Office team,” she said. “I thank him for his leadership and welcoming me to the team.”
