Inver Hills and DCTC promote degrees, majors, and programs at CHS Field
Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College teamed up for a Minnesota State College Game Night with the St. Paul Saints Wednesday afternoon, June 28, at CHS Field in St. Paul. The Saints played the Gwinnett Stripers and won the game 12–9 when Saints catcher, Jair Camargo, smacked a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth.
“Another opportunity to sponsor a Minnesota State College Game Night at CHS Field during a St. Paul Saints game allowed us to showcase the wide array of technical, career, and academic programs at Inver Hills and DCTC,” said Lisé Freking, director of strategic marketing and communications at both colleges. “Our staff, faculty, students, administrators, family, and friends got the chance to interact with Saints fans at our Minnesota State tent by the front gate and later watch the Saints play on a beautiful summer night.”
Lisé added that Inver Hills student and Student Senate president, Debbie Wallen, and DCTC student and Blue Knights baseball player, Zach Gwost, threw out the first pitches. Inver Hills student, Peter Hoffman, sang the National Anthem. Tom Lancaster, Minnesota State director of digital communications, was on hand at the college table by the stadium main entrance.
“Michael Berndt, Inver Hills and DCTC president, shared the missions, visions, and values of both colleges from the Saints broadcast booth,” Lisé said. “We hope to have even more fun next season hosting another College Game Night in partnership with Minnesota State and the St. Paul Saints.
