Bloomington native joins CTL as LMS administrator
Jamie Lewis, 31, has joined the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) at Inver Hills Community College as the new learning management system (LMS) administrator. Jamie will oversee the operation of D2L Brightspace at the college.
The D2L Brightspace website is the primary tool students use to access course materials online for traditional, blended/hybrid and fully online courses.
Martin Springborg, the director of teaching and learning at Inver Hills and Dakota County Technical College, reported that Jamie is a proficient D2L Brightspace user with extensive experience designing trainings for the various instructional technologies used at the college.
“Jamie not only brings a passion for academic technology and course design to this role, but also years of experience as a TRIO advisor,” Martin said. “Her background will lend itself to the Center for Teaching and Learning’s focus on both faculty and student success. I’m excited for Jamie to be part of the Inver Hills community and our CTL Team!”
Before coming to Inver Hills, Jamie worked as an instructional assistant paraprofessional at Washburn Elementary School in Bloomington, Minnesota. Before that, she served as a TRIO educational talent search advisor for nearly six years at Hennepin Technical College.
“I worked with the best students: they were so hardworking, kind and resilient,” Jamie said. “I loved building relationships with students and celebrating with them on graduation day. A yearly highlight was when TRIO alumni would come back to the school and encourage current students to stay motivated in pursuing their goals.”
