Outgoing CFO honored during Minnesota State 2016 CFO Conference

Scott Erickson, vice president of finance and operations at Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College, received the Chancellor’s Award during the Minnesota State Annual Chief Financial Officers Conference Dec. 9, 2016, at the System Office in St. Paul.

The Chancellor’s Award recognizes individuals or teams whose efforts support the system’s Strategic Framework and result in system-wide improvements in financial management, services and/or processes. Award criteria focus on innovation, collaboration and new work that is above and beyond regular duties.
Minnesota State CFO Laura King reported that Scott Erickson took on challenging assignment after challenging assignment over the course of his career. His leadership, she added, has helped form and refine the policies and practices the Minnesota State system uses today.

“I couldn’t let this last chance go by without thanking him for his service, his leadership and his professional contributions to our work,” King said.
Erickson will retire January 2017 after 36 years of service to Minnesota State. In addition to his time at Inver Hills and DCTC, Erickson served as vice president of finance and operations at Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Century College.

Patrick Jacobson-Schulte, vice president for finance and treasurer at The Sage Colleges in New York, will assume CFO duties at Inver Hills and DCTC Jan. 9, 2017.
