Inver Hills Community College is holding Student Success Day (SSD) Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the college’s campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. SSD is a student-centered, college-wide event featuring a keynote speaker, Saul Flores, one-on-one faculty time, and in-person sessions designed to support students as they navigate college.¹
As an Inver Hills student, you’ll get the chance to attend workshops that will help you develop strategies, skills, and tactics to achieve your college goals. FREE pizza will be served from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the College Center (1st floor). Registration is encouraged, but not required.
Join Saul Flores, philanthropist, photojournalist, speaker, and first-generation college student, and spend an hour exploring the power of grit. From getting accepted to college to landing your dream job, grit is what makes us truly great. Regardless of our background, status, or intelligence, grit is the great equalizer.
In his program, Saul explains how students can harness the power of grit to work toward purpose-driven goals. Through storytelling, discussion, and practical exercises, students will feel empowered to develop gritty habits and use grit as a tool for navigating their college journeys.
Students, faculty, staff, and the wider community will also have the enriching opportunity to experience and celebrate the cultural diversity and contributions of our Hispanic communities.
