Nearly 600 students participated
Inver Hills Community College hosted Student Success Day on the college’s Inver Grove Heights campus Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. The all-day event featured free food, including lunch and dinner, one-on-one faculty time and workshops to help students focus on their college goals. Faculty and staff put together a lineup of 58 sessions covering such topics as karate, photography, transferring, anthropology, resume writing, meditation and much more.
Shiloh Gideon-Sjostrom, communication faculty and Student Success Day coordinator, reported that 578 students braved snowy roads to attend the event, which is held twice a year during spring and fall semester.
“I talked to many students who commented on how much they enjoyed the keynote speaker, Jerrid Sebesta,” Shiloh said. “And, as always, I heard over and over how students love the chance to interact with our professors, counselors, advisors and the rest of the Inver Hills community on Student Success Day.”
