$22 million project will renovate 31,800 square feet of existing space
Inver Hills Community College hosted a groundbreaking celebration for the Technology & Business Center Renovation Project Monday, July 22, 2024, on the college’s campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The projected cost of the renovation project is $22.025 million; the college’s 2022 to 2023 Capital Bonding Request was increased by Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) with an inflationary factor applied at 22 percent. An appropriation in 2018 provided $698,000 for the renovation project’s design.
Michael Berndt, MA, Inver Hills and Dakota County Technical College president, was delighted by the turnout for the event.
“In addition to faculty, staff, and system office representatives, we had several of our area House members, county commissioners, the mayor of Inver Grove Heights, and an IGH city council member in attendance,” President Berndt said. “It was a testimony to the regard that local leaders have for the college—and a reminder that these projects take a village to bring to construction. It was a great celebration.”
Heather Aagesen-Huebner, MPA, vice president of finance and operations, Kari Rusch-Curl, MA, vice president of student affairs, and JT Bealka, MS, interim dean of business, healthcare, and public service, also attended the event.
