Inver Hills Community College is hosting a Virtual Student Success Day starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Student Success Day is a student-centered event featuring a keynote speaker, one-on-one faculty time, and many sessions designed to help students focus on their college goals.
Dr. Jermaine Davis, author and motivational speaker, will deliver two keynote presentations. Student Success Day activities include a FREE Student Resources Drive-Thru, College Fair, Leadership Workshop, Club Fair and Zoom sessions on more than a dozen essential topics.

“The Bounce-Back Factor: Overcoming Obstacles to Achieve Success”
10 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.
Dr. Jermaine Davis will share practical tips and ideas on how to mentally, emotionally and physically Bounce-Back in the face of adversity. Get ready to laugh while learning how to adapt and adjust to the uncertainties of changes in life, school and work. A question & answer session with Dr. Davis begins at 11 a.m.
“What Can the Civil Rights Movement Teach Us about TLC: Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication”
6 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.
In this informative and engaging address, Dr. Jermaine Davis will discuss pivotal moments of the Civil Rights Movement, as well as highlight the practical approaches used to spark a major revolution in the United States and across the globe.
Dr. Davis will leverage his professional experiences to demonstrate how the Civil Rights Movement can continue to influence and inspire change in 21st Century America.

Dr. Jermaine M. Davis is founder an CEO of Jermaine M. Davis Seminars & Workshops, Inc., a personal and professional development company that creates customized presentations, learning resources and educational materials for individuals, teams and organizations.
Dr. Jermaine began his professional career as a snack food sales rep and a district sales manager within corporate America. During this time, he honed his expertise in creating culturally inclusive work environments, building high-performance teams, teaching leaders how to communicate courageously, and coaching employees on how to increase their levels of happiness and motivation so they can thrive and succeed in life, school and work.
Dr. Jermaine founded Snack Attack Vending of Minnesota in 2003, a snack food company that specializes in helping individuals and companies satisfy their snack food cravings. After growing Snack Attack into a successful business, Dr. Jermaine decided to fully dedicate himself to his true passions of speaking, teaching, writing and filmmaking.

Dr. Jermaine Davis will share his latest research on how to use the principles and practices of communication and influence to increase leadership and organizational effectiveness.
