Inver Hills Community College is holding Student Success Day (SSD) Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the college’s campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. SSD is a student-centered, college-wide event that includes one-on-one time with faculty and in-person sessions designed to support students as they navigate your college journey. As an Inver Hills student, you’ll get the chance to attend workshops that will help you develop strategies, skills, and tactics to achieve your college goals.
“Student Success Day is a full day devoted to fostering student success, building community, and creating meaningful connections with peers, faculty, and both campus and community resources,” reported Jennifer Parta, psychology faculty at the college and also the Psi Beta faculty advisor and an SSD coordinator. “We’re excited to introduce a new ‘Sensory-Friendly Path’ of presentations at SSD this year! These sessions will highlight resources and strategies especially valuable for students who are neurodivergent and/or have accessibility needs.”
Jennifer added that FREE PIZZA will be served from noon to 1 p.m. in the Fine Arts building lobby, where several “tabling” opportunities will be available for students to browse and gather more helpful information and make connections to both campus and community resources.
“Additionally, there will be ‘mini’ sessions this year from 12:30 to 1 p.m.” Jennifer said. “This year’s on-campus sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—and we’re adding even more learning opportunities by opening up the 11 a.m. hour for regular sessions instead of a keynote. We will also be offering online-only sessions from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.”
NOTE: All full-semester day classes—on-campus, Zoom, and hybrid—are canceled on SSD to allow students to participate in the day’s events. Accelerated courses (first eight weeks) and off-campus classes may be held as usual. Evening classes will be held at their usual time.
Registration is encouraged, but not required.
